10 Member of Maina I Kolping Family participated Color Quality Training of Traditional Clothes.

Lautem – September 6th, Obra Kolping Baucau provide Color Quality Training of Traditional Clothes (named Tais) for Kolping Family (FK) in Suco Maina I which was attended by women with a total of 10 participants.

This training was carried out for three (3) days, started on September 6th and ended on September 8th, 2021 in Maina I Village, Lautem Post Administrative, Lautem Municipality.

The participant that consist from 10 women are member of Kolping Family Maina I who has the ability as a craftswomen who produces traditional clothes (named Tais) and sells it to the surrounding Community.

The problem that they faced is the product that they produce have not achieved good color quality because the product color is still sensitive to water because it can damage the original color of traditional clothes (tais). Therefore, this training is aimed at increasing the color quality of the tais produced by the craftswomen in order to improve the color quality so that the product produced can last for a long time, moreover the colors do not fade easily so that when the tais gets dirty is can be washed.

Tais is not only as traditional clothes but also as traditional instruments that very high social, cultural and economic  values and are mostly used in cultural events such as  event related to the death of someone (called: lia mate) and event related to life (Called: lia moris) and this applies throughout Timor-Leste.
